Alliances

iCAIR is partnered with the following alliances that are both national and international in scope.

Association of Computing Machinery

The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) brings together computing educators, researchers, and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources, and address the field's challenges. As the world’s largest computing society, ACM strengthens the profession's collective voice through strong leadership, promotion of the highest standards, and recognition of technical excellence. ACM supports the professional growth of its members by providing opportunities for life‐long learning, career development, and professional networking.

Center for Applied Internet Data Analysis

The Center for Applied Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA) conducts network research and builds research infrastructure to support large-scale data collection, curation, and data distribution to the scientific research community. CAIDA is based at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, located on the UC San Diego campus in La Jolla, CA. Learn more about CAIDA.

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) also provides standards related to advanced networking, although primarily for specialized areas such as certain types of physical infrastructure. The IEEE is an international professional society that undertakes a variety of projects leading to the design, development, and testing of many different types of advanced components. Learn more about IEEE.

Internet Engineering Task Force

Many advanced Internet initiatives developed under the auspices of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), a collaboration of networking technologists, which has been the guiding force shaping Internet policy, standards, design, and development since the early days of the Internet. The IETF provides a process under which technical reports and documentation on proposals for revision of protocols are published, for example, as Requests for Comment (RFCs, which can provide information on proposed experiments, proposals, drafts, and standards) and Internet Engineering Notes (IEN). Learn more about IETF.

Open Compute Project

The Open Compute Project (OCP) is a collaborative community focused on redesigning hardware technology to support the growing demands on computing infrastructure efficiently. Learn more about the Open Compute Project.

Open Grid Forum

The Open Grid Forum (OGF) is an open global community committed to driving the rapid evolution and adoption of modern advanced applied distributed computing, including cloud, grid, and associated storage, networking, and workflow methods. OGF is focused on developing and promoting innovative, scalable techniques, applications, and infrastructures to improve productivity in the enterprise and within the international research, science, and business communities.

Open Networking Foundation

The Open Networking Foundation (ONF) is an operator-driven, community-led non-profit consortium fostering and democratizing innovation in software-defined programmable networks. Through ecosystem building, advocacy, research, and education, ONF is accelerating the state-of-the-art in open networking and catalyzing the creation and adoption of open disaggregated solutions leveraging open-source software.

Optical Internetworking Forum

The Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) is an open organization whose members are engaged in the development of interoperable networking solutions. Learn more about OIF.
